Way-Making Conference – We’ve Begun!

by Toward CRC Canada | Sep 17, 2026 | Blog Posts

We are here and we’ve begun. But first, we ate together. Most of us were gathered last night around tables in Gardens Community Church, enjoying local pizza and beer and each other’s stories. A feast for the body and soul! We were reminded of the joy of being together, sharing our past and looking forward to our future as an association of churches.

Today, we’re delighted to learn from Father Joash Thomas about Bringing Your Full Light, Heretics of Empire and Decolonizing the Great Commission. We’ll also begin a “stones” activity as part of our worship. This afternoon, worship will be led by a local Queer Belonging Group on the theme of carrying each other’s burdens. The afternoon workshops offer the choice between learning about Governance and Membership of the new association or Resources for Disaffiliating Churches. A full day spent in the life-affirming company of like-minded believers!

Blessings on your day, wherever you are!
