Dear Canadians,
“Christ has no body now but yours, no hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes with which He sees, Yours are the feet with which He walks, Yours are the hands with which He blesses all the world: Yours are the hands.”
(from Porter’s Gate Worship Project, Work Songs, 2017)
Worship him with those hands. Christ builds the church, so your feet, your hands, your eyes, in your town, village, city can serve others, serving him. “Your” church is his church. Jesus calls together folks to work, to lead. “Your” church knows these gifted ones; “your” church listens to Christ’s call for them to be leaders.
“Your” local council hears the call, and knows. Knows very well who to ask into leadership positions.
One of the foundational goals of the All Canada Church Summit in November is to highlight and encourage this local council’s original authority; to collaboratively help build a network in which this is supported and grows. This foundational work will be at the centre of the conversations of one of the workgroups at the Summit, because this is key: Honouring local church leadership. There will in fact be several workgroups meeting throughout much of the time in Kitchener, listening, learning, sharing, planning, reporting to the whole, and reviewing. To get it right. Ultimately: working for Jesus to bless the world.
Help build this network. Be the hands, feet, eyes that serve him through serving others. Register online; or volunteer to help (food, logistics, transportation, lodging). Be part of his-story!
Blessings,
Peter Bulthuis
