Dear folks interested in an autonomous Canadian CRC,
After a lengthy time of discussion, Synod 2025 just voted not to adopt Overture 28, the call to create a distinct Canadian CRC. Synod stated that the concerns listed as grounds in the overture will be adequately addressed at the Classis Quinte meeting, scheduled for 2026. We do not believe the pressing issues we have raised will be seriously addressed at this event.
We in Toward CRC Canada are disappointed by this outcome. We have pursued our goal of a distinct Canadian CRC by way of an overture within the structures of the CRCNA. As a Steering Team, we will take stock of this decision and look to the future. You can expect to hear our full response before the end of the week.
