I feel very honoured to have been a part of what was an incredibly uplifting and spirit-filled weekend retreat. Over the course of the time together, I learned a lot about the organization that is forming and the people forming in and around it.
Each person was a valued participant in the working small groups and able to share honestly. This allowed for TC to continue thoughtful discussion on how this emerging group of churches can best be used in God’s kingdom.
This retreat also opened a space to form relationships with other members and have meaningful conversations. I am particularly grateful for the opportunity to make these connections and share my experiences with so many amazing people.
I would be lying if I said that it wasn’t hard work. Although I don’t like to think of it as work, it was a labour of love that required quite a bit of mental exertion. It was a neat thing, however, to labour in this way in service of God and my friends, both new and old. I think it is important to recognize the labour and who it is for. We are building neighbourhoods, relationships, and safe spaces. This is for God. This is for your kids, and Lord willing, it’s for my kids.
We are worshiping God in community and inviting others to join in. I felt that deeply over the weekend and it was a joy to be a part of.
I feel encouraged that a structured way forward has been established, and anticipate with excitement how new ideas and voices will contribute towards our future.
