According to the Q&A that was sent from the CRCNA office, Synod 2024 made several major decisions that are having and will have profound impacts on CRC congregations’ ministry. As a result of these, churches are experiencing concerns in recruiting office bearers; concerns in young persons’ decisions to profess their faith; concerns of churches in our Classes being put under limited suspension. These are high level decisions by the Canadian-minority Synod that have impacted the day-to-day functioning and hopes of many congregations in Canada.
Toward CRC Canada invites you to a conversation dealing with Synodical over-reach and its impacts on ministry in the Canadian CRCs: how do these changes impact us locally? Five church leaders from across Canada will talk about their experiences in their respective regions:
- Mike Borgert, Chatham, ON
- Andrew Geisterfer, Edmonton, AB
- Cherri LeForestier, Whitby, ON
- John Luimes, Whitby, ON
- Dan Meinema, Lethbridge, AB
- Paul Verhoef, Calgary, AB
This important presentation will happen on Tuesday, December 3 on Zoom. Everyone is invited and there will be sufficient meeting capacity for all. The meeting will also be recorded and posted on the website afterwards.
